IM8 Experience: Week 3

This is the third entry into my digital journal, keeping track of my experience with IM8, the new all-in-one supplement produced by Prenetics in partnership with David Beckham.

In my week 1 entry, I outlined the 8 health markers that IM8 aims to improve and shared my day-by-day experience with the supplement. In my second entry I shared with you how IM8 supported me through a hangover and an eventful day of travel, followed by 4 days of jet lag.

For this third entry, I feel like I am in the calm before the storm in the best way possible. I don’t feel a lot of changes this week compared to last, but knowing that I am going into my fourth and final week of this test has me excited to see what the final days will bring.

As a reminder, here are the 8 health markers the Daily Ultimate Essentials supplement aims to improve:

  • Immunity: improving your immune response and resilience to illness
  • Energy: increasing your energy via key vitamins and nutrients
  • Renew (cell renewal): support healthy cell renewal with the best ingredients
  • Hydrate: support proper hydration with essential electrolytes
  • Cardio: support cardiovascular health with ingredients that maintain and support healthy blood vessels and heart function
  • Nourish: offer a complete list of ingredients that include a variety of top quality nutrients and benefits
  • Digest: provide pre and probiotics
  • Cognitive: support healthy cognition with vitamins, minerals and mushrooms that support optimal cognition

As I mentioned in my week 2 review, the majority of week 3 I was in Portugal, enjoying sunshine, more than 10K steps a day and some stability in my routine. However, on my final day of week 3, I am getting my body back on Montreal time. Here’s my review of week 3 testing IM8’s Ultimate Daily Essentials supplement.

Week 3 Highlights

Where week 1 was a introduction to IM8, and week 2 I tested IM8 against hangovers and jet lags, week 3 was the first week of stability.

Which may explain why I didn’t have any major shifts in how I feel. All 8 areas are feeling good, and nothing in particular stands out, besides feeling like my cardio has improved after 10 days of walking the hills in Lisbon. Is that all because of IM8, definitely not, but there’s a great chance that it supported my body’s ability to adapt quickly so I didn’t feel too tired in the new environment.

Once I was out of the haze of jet lag, I would say that my mental focus returned and that lovely feeling of clarity and being able to express my thoughts with some semblance of intelligence did return. The cognitive benefits and, of course, the digestive benefits have consistently been the areas where I’ve felt the most improvements.

In the first 2 weeks I mentioned in the review section that I felt like my skin was really clear and glowing. I did have a small stumble with this in Lisbon, but I actually think it was because of the laundry detergent that was used on my face cloths and clothing. The way my skin broke out felt more like a topical or chemical reaction than an internal freak out. Especially because the breakouts were happening on my forehead and on my neck.

My face cloths always get put on my forehead first, and then my neck would have interacted with the collars of my clothes. Not only that but I developed a small rash on my chest.

Oh, the joys of sensitive skin!

This past week was just easy and there was fairly consistent routine, so it felt like I settled into my habit of taking IM8 and my body was able to settle into the benefits of it as well. Not as exciting as the first 2 weeks, but maybe that’s exactly what I needed for this testing period.

Oh, and speaking of period – I have been taking the contraceptive pill consistently for quite a few weeks now, but I have a theory that IM8 is supporting my body with so much nourishment, that my body is kind of rebelling against the foreign agent that is my birth control pill and I have been getting breakthrough bleeds. Just in case there are any other girls taking IM8 and who also skip their periods, the nourishment may be too much for birth control pill and you may still get some spotting.

Week 3 in Review: The 8 of IM8

This past week has been a leveling of the playing field. The routine of the week allowed me to really see all 8 health markers on an even playing field, instead of hoping that some markers would improve more than others, like I did in the weeks before when my body was under more stressful conditions.

Almost at the finish line, here’s how I rank each of the 8 health markers:

  1. Immunity – 8/8: I am going on many weeks of travel, late nights, hangovers, pushing my body in training, jet lag, and sitting on a plane with coughing passengers – and I still fit as a fiddle. I imagine the combination of a healthy digestion and the immune “boosting” properties of IM8 have both contributed to the general resilience I have felt these last few weeks.
  2. Energy – 7/8: Putting IM8 to the test in a new timezone really put this particular health marker to the test. It is an improvement from last week because I do feel like my energy levels haven’t leveled out since I arrived in Portugal and we are now on day 4 of being here.
  3. Renew – 6/8: As mentioned in the highlights section, my skin did have a bit of a freak out, but this was likely due to some new products that my skin came in contact with. I will say that I got a pretty good sunburn on my very first day of touring around the city. I made sure to lather my skin up with moisturizer, but I also feel like my skin recovered from the burn more quickly than I am used to. There was zero peeling, which I do credit to the moisturizer, mostly, but I wonder if the renewing properties of IM8 played a part here.
  4. Hydrate – 8/8: Now that I look back on it, IM8 was really my main source of hydration in Lisbon. I would have my coffee in the morning, and my IM8, and then I wasn’t drinking a lot of water while I was there. This is outside of my normal habit and routine, so I am really glad that I at least had this super charged injection of hydration to start every day.
  5. Cardio – 6/8: I was impressed at how well my body adapted to the conditions in Lisbon. If you don’t know, Lisbon is just one big hill. Wherever you go you are likely walking up or down a hill. I did do some training prior to arriving, but there was still an adjustment period where I felt like I needed a break. However, after about 3 days, I was feeling like my heart and my lungs could manage the hills well. My hips and my quads – that’s another story!
  6. Nourish – 8/8: As I said in the highlights section, I almost feel like the nourishing quality of this supplement is working so well that my reproductive cycle is strong enough to fight back against the contraceptive pill. It is kind of wild, but in a way I am proud of my body for feeling strong enough to fight back against this chemical invader known as birth control.
  7. Digest – 7/8: Digestion has been a star the whole way through. So much so, that I can feel myself becoming more regular. The dream pooping schedule hasn’t been achieved yet, but I have high hopes going into the final week.
  8. Cognitive – 7/8: Week to week, I am now starting to get used to the fact that my focus and mental clarity is high when I take IM8. It was great for keeping my alert in a new environment, and allowed me to get my work done on a modified working schedule that had me working late into the evenings.

Week 1 average rating: 7.125/8: Three weeks in and IM8 is still pulling its weight. With all the travel, jet lag, late nights, and even a sunburn thrown into the mix, I’ve felt surprisingly resilient—and that’s saying a lot. Hydration and nourishment are still top-tier, and my digestion has stayed consistent even with big shifts in routine (hello, almost dream pooping schedule!). Energy, focus, and cardio recovery all saw solid boosts, especially once I settled into the Lisbon hills. I’m feeling strong, clear-headed, and genuinely curious to see how things wrap up in the final stretch.
