Winter is well under way and up here in Canada, we are deep into “bundle up” season. Weather-proofed boots, warm jackets, and all the cute and cozy accessories to help get through these colder months.

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you know I am always on the hunt for the latest and greatest in sportswear, athleisure, and everything in between to support your healthy lifestyle goals.

Last Christmas, my mum got me a couple warm layers from a store called Decathlon. If you don’t know, Decathlon is a French sportswear retailer that sells well-known brands, as well as some lesser-known brands. The items are well curated, and they’ve got everything to support you from swimming, to skiing the slopes, to outfitting your own home gym.

I loved the products so much that the last time I was visiting Lisbon, I stopped by a Decathlon store and picked up one of my now favourite sweaters.

In the spirit of not gatekeeping and helping you discover your next favourite brand, I’ve put together a Decathlon wish list. Whether you’re looking for last-minute gifting inspiration, are planning your Boxing Day haul, or are just looking for a new retailer to try, this list should have you covered.

Winter Wish List

The next items will have you covered up and cozy – head-to-toe!

Quechua Women’s Waterproof Winter Boots – SH 500

As someone who used to walk dogs every winter as a side gig, I know the value of a great winter boot. Something waterproof that goes high up enough on your calf that you can step into deep snow to pick up after the dog.

These boots stood out because they have a minimalist design – nothing too flashy. Also, because they aren’t the classic black, you won’t show the salt stains as much on these boots. They also look similar to the Sorel Joan of Arctic boot, but with less fur on the top and no black detail on the bottom of the boot – and for just $70 these are a third of the price of the Sorel boots.

Quechua Women’s Warm Water-Repellent Hiking Pants – SH 500

Snow pants may not be the cutest part of staying warm in the winter, but if you’re more worried about staying warm than serving looks while you’re out for a walk this winter, then you definitely need a pair of warm pants.

I picked up a pair of pants like this that I throw on over my workout outfit in the morning.  It’s especially nice when I am wearing shorts to the gym that day. It keeps my legs warm before and after the gym, and I don’t have to do a full change at the gym.

For just $40, these are a functional and affordable addition to your winter wardrobe.

Women’s Merino Wool Long-Sleeved Half-Zip T-Shirt, Merino Resist

For the first of the 2 sweaters on this list, I’m including this merino wool sweater. Again, just something basic but a warm layer to throw on under your winter coat that will give you a little extra insulation on those extra windy and cold winter walks.

It makes such a difference on those days when you know you need to be outside to meet friends for a winter activity, walking the dog, or going cross-country skiing.

At $80 it is a little more expensive than most sweaters from Decathlon, but it is well worth it if it means you’ll be staying warm this winter.

Domyos Women’s Crew Neck Training Sweatshirt

The sweater that I bought from Decathlon this summer is no longer available, but this sweater is the closest thing I could find to it! Just a classic crew neck sweater. Great for lazy days, throwing on over your workout clothes, or wearing for your warm-up. And right now it is only $15 (!!).

Wedze Warm and Waterproof Ski Mittens, 500

For your more intense winter activities, a warm, waterproof, and windproof set of mittens is essential. These mittens check all of those boxes and will keep your hands cozy in -10 degrees celsius and 20km/h winds.

A staple in every winter wardrobe.

Wedze Cuffed Hat, Rider 500

To finish up the winter wardrobe, every body needs a good beanie. You lose a lot of your body heat through the top of your head, so it is important on the coldest days to add a hat to your winter ‘fit.

They offer many different styles of beanies and hats, but I thought this one was the most versatile in terms of where it could be worn. It is also had the most variations in terms of the colour of the hat, so if pink isn’t your vibe, you can check out the other 7 options.

Indoor Sportswear

If you’re like me and your sports or workouts move indoors in the winter, then the next items are for you.

Decathlon Women’s Chlorine-Resistant One-Piece Swimsuit with Print, Kamiye

Looking to pick up swimming to switch up your cardio routine this winter? Then a high-quality swimsuit is needed. This suit is sleek, built for lane swim, and also looks really cool (imo).

And for just $35, it is cheaper than any speedo swimsuit you’ll find.

Domyos Pilates Ring – Black

Looking to start pilates as part of your New Year’s resolution? This pilates ring is something that will definitely come in handy then! Having one of these also means you can start pilates at home and love it before you invest in pricey pilates classes.

Corength Fabric Glute Bands x3, 10-14-22 kg

There is so much you can do with a set of resistance bands like these. They are perfect for building out your at-home or travel workout kit. I like these fabric bands because they come with a gripping material on the inside of the band, the resistance of the bands are clearly labelled, and this selection of colours is the cutest I’ve seen!

Domyos Pilates Mat – Comfort 500

Every home gym set-up needs a good quality mat. I have learned recently that I prefer a thicker, foam-y, and extra long yoga mat when I am using a yoga mat at home. For a similar length and thickness, you won’t find a mat like this on Amazon for this price.

Decathlon Mini Massage Gun

Lastly, you’re going to want to pick up this massage gun. For starters, it is only $90 when most massage guns start at $200. It is small enough to fit in your gym bag, to not take up too much space at home, and can even be easily packed in a carry-on or purse for muscle release on-the-go!

This little massager will give you up to 3 hours of massage time and comes complete with a charging chord.

With the above items, you’ll be set for winter and your indoor training activities at an affordable price.
